Learning never stops—especially when you’re caring for others. Hale Hauʻoli Hawaiʻi offers a growing range of community classes for caregivers with family in adult day care, kūpuna, and professionals across Oʻahu.
Whether you’re seeking certification, gaining confidence in your caregiving role, or simply preparing for the future, we’re here to help.


Who These Classes are For
Our community classes are open to:
- Family caregivers supporting a loved one at home
- Seniors who want to stay sharp and safe
- Individuals preparing for a healthcare career
- Volunteers, CNAs, and paid in-home caregivers
- Anyone interested in CPR, safety, and elder care
No experience is necessary. Classes are taught in a friendly, supportive environment by experienced professionals.
Classes We Offer
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Training
Prepare for work in hospitals, clinics, and in-home care with our state-approved CNA certification course. You’ll learn:
- Patient hygiene and mobility
- Taking vitals and documenting care
- Understanding basic medical terminology
- Safety, infection control, and more
The program includes classroom hours, hands-on clinical training, and exam prep.
CPR & First Aid Certification
Our CPR classes teach life-saving skills for both laypeople and professionals. Topics include:
- Adult, child, and infant CPR
- AED usage and choking response
- Basic first aid procedures
- Certification valid for 2 years
This training is ideal for caregivers, volunteers, and community members.
Family Caregiver Education
Caring for a loved one comes with unique challenges. Our workshops provide the tools and support to help you thrive:
- Dementia care and behavior management
- Fall prevention and safe transfers
- Medication management
- Caregiver burnout prevention
- Legal and financial basics for caregiving
Most classes are free or low-cost and available in-person and online.
